Statement of Faith

Jim and Pam Reimann

1. We believe the Bible—both Old and New Testaments—is the Word of God, inspired by His Holy Spirit. It is the revelation of God’s truth, without error in its original manuscripts, and is the supreme and final authority in all matters of life and faith.

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21).

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).

“The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6).

2. We believe in one Sovereign God, who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

“‘As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased’” (Matthew 3:16-17).

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

3. We believe Jesus is the Messiah of the Scriptures, the eternal Son of God, and is coequal with God the Father. We believe He became the Son of Man by His virgin birth, and that He lived a sinless life of perfect obedience to God’s law in order to redeem His people.

“The Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).

“The angel answered [Mary], ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God’” (Luke 1:35).

“He had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people” (Hebrews 2:17).

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

“He appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin” (1 John 3:5).

“When the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law” (Galatians 4:4-5).

4. We believe Jesus’ substitutionary and atoning death fully satisfied God’s holy wrath as the payment for the sins of all who trust in Him alone, by faith alone, for salvation. We believe by His blood, shed on Calvary, His perfect righteousness is applied by the Holy Spirit to all who believe.

“God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood” (Romans 3:25).

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us” (Romans 5:5).

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30).

5. We believe all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s wrath. We believe salvation is completely a work of God, that He sovereignly chose those He saves, and that His choice was based solely on His grace, not on any individual merit; any measure of human sincerity, decision, or will; nor any religious ritual whatsoever.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

“Just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12).

“Salvation comes from the LORD” (Jonah 2:9).

“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him” (Psalm 62:1).

“You, O God, are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth” (Psalm 74:12).

“To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12-13).

“It has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him” (Philippians 1:29).

“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care” (1 Peter 1:10).

6. We believe that Israel exists as a covenant people through whom God continues to accomplish his purposes, and that the Church is an elect people in accordance with the New Covenant, comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who acknowledge Jesus as Messiah and Redeemer.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile” (Romans 1:16).

“I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen” (Romans 9:3-5).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:3-5).

“Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance” (Hebrews 9:15).

7. We believe true believers in Jesus the Messiah deny themselves and obediently follow Him. We believe all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus.

“Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me’” (Matthew 16:24).

“If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15).

“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God” (1 Peter 2:12).

“In him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).

8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, His ascension to His Father in heaven, and His ultimate return in power and glory as the King of Kings to receive His people to Himself.

“Christ Jesus … was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 1:1, 4).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven” (Hebrews 1:3).

“We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him” (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen” (Revelation 22:20-21).
